Poetic Writing Write on a variety of topics, shaping, editing and reworking texts in a range of genres, and using appropriate vocabulary and conventions, such as spelling and sentence structure, appropriate to the genre.	Write a recount based on a personal experience using a journey to school as a setting.

Exploring Language	Identify, discuss and use the conventions, structures, and language features of narrative texts, and discuss how they relate to the topic.
Supporting Achievement Objective	Learning Outcomes
Interpersonal speaking and listening	Talk clearly in small groups about experiences and information gathered about journeys. Interact with others in group/class discussions.
Close Reading	Read closely, identifying specific language features of a personal recount and discuss how they contribute to the meaning of the text.
