Introduction
Through an author study, students will learn that the Internet is another resource tool for finding out more about favourite authors and presenting information.
Prior to introducing the unit, the teacher will collect books by Margaret Mahy, obtain a map
(to explore New Zealand, Christchurch, Governor's Bay, Margaret Mahy's home) videos, and bookmark relevant sites. You can collect books from the library, School Journals (Catalogue page 55 for lists of stories - Margaret Mahy) and supplementary readers.
A "Margaret Mahy"
learning (RTF 8KB)
will be set up for students to browse and read and to work independently at
learning_centre (RTF 126KB)
. Students will be encouraged to add their own personal resources to the centre.
A
journal (RTF 7KB)
will be kept by the students to record their learning at regular intervals.
