Introduction
This unit is designed to focus on the skills and strategies needed for close reading to support the current topic or theme. The strategies should be integrated into any current cross curricula learning context during the year. The unit is designed to allow students to choose non-fiction texts and to know how/why to use specific reading strategies to gather information. The focus is on the close reading of a selected text to share and discuss with a group.
