Learning Centre Activities
- Make booklets or charts of helpful hints on how to be a good storyteller.
- Poster: "What makes a good storyteller/listener?"
- Make a display chart: "Our favourite parts of stories", eg. I really liked the part where she said - "She put the shoe in the freezer".
- Students' taped stories available in the centre for others in the class to listen to.
- Tapes and cassette recorder available in the centre. Students select a favourite storybook, familiarise themselves with the book and review the book on tape.

Assessment Task
Students will produce a taped anthology of stories with a linking commentary, which will include two personal stories told by themselves, two stories by an older family member and a traditional story. Students will collaborate with others to listen/retell stories, to tape stories and to collect stories from home.
